Life changes

If you didn’t sing that title then I highly recommend that you go listen to Thomas Rhett’s newest album, Life Changes. (SERIOUSLY SO GOOD) okay sorry for that little  side note. BUT in the new album he has a song called Life Changes. After probably the millionth time I have listened to it the lyrics really stuck out to me. The entire song is him talking about how much his life has changed over the years and he wouldn’t change it for the world.

Personally my favorite lyric is “You make your plans and you hear God laughing”

I’m sure all of us can say that one time in our life we had something perfectly planned out and it doesn’t work out. Have you ever thought to God, why did you let me get so far if you weren’t going to allow it to happen? He lets us get all excited, thinking it’s gonna happen, while he’s up there laughing at us thinking “just wait until she sees what I have planned better for her”. I’ve thought about it and every time God changes what I thought was going to be the best thing to happen to me it really wasn’t. What I wanted to happen so bad was going to in the long run hurt me.

I’m not saying that at the time of those plans falling apart didn’t hurt, or that I didn’t struggle with trusting Gods other plans for me, but I am saying that if those plans would have worked out I would have got hurt so much more. So in reality God didn’t hurt me, he was just protecting me from what could’ve happened. At the time I’m sure just like some of you I kept saying but God why ,  why did you do this. I should have been telling myself but God, but God is so mighty and powerful so why don’t I trust him and what he’s doing? His plans for me are greater than anything I can imagine, so why can’t I have faith?

Jeremiah 29:11 : For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I know we think we have the best plan set out for our life and its tough when they don’t work out, but in Jeremiah 29:11 that gives us comfort that when those plans don’t work out God knows what he is doing.

Trust HIS plan

listen to Thomas Rhett

and be good to people for no reason.

with love & prayer,

aubrey.
